Zelensky proposes Ukrainian government resign

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that those who are not ready to work for the benefit of future generations must leave the government on their own.

He stated this in his inauguration speech in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada on Monday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Let me quote a famous American actor who has become a great American president: 'Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem.' I do not understand our government, which only shrugs its shoulders and says that we cannot do anything. That is not true, you can. You can take a sheet of paper, a pen and release your seats for those who will think about future generations, rather than about next elections. I think that people will appreciate it," Zelensky said.

He noted that citizens were tired of "experienced and systematic politicians who in the course of 28 years created a country of opportunities."

"Opportunities for kickbacks, [financial] flows, and carve-up. We will build a country of other opportunities where everyone is equal before the law, where there are fair and transparent rules of the game, one for all. To this end, those who will serve the people must come to power," Zelensky said.
