Sadovyi says ready to fight for post of prime minister

Samopomich Union leader Andriy Sadovyi has said that he is ready to fight for the post of Ukraine's prime minister.

He said this speaking at the 18th congress of the party on Saturday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I will not tell you any secrets. I publicly said that my activities as [Lviv] mayor are smoothly coming to an end. My term is ending. I am not going to run for a new term. I am ready to stand for parliament, head the [Samopomich party] list. If I have your trust, I am ready to fight for the post of prime minister and bring order to the country," Sadovyi said.

Sadovyi has served as Lviv mayor since April 2006. In 2019, he ran for the Ukrainian presidency but withdrew his candidacy from the race.
