Advisor to Zelensky: We do not change policies on NATO, war with Russia

Ivan Aparshyn, an adviser to newly elected president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for security and defense, says that Zelensky team will not change the policies on Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the war with Russia.

“We couldn’t discuss all those issues during our meeting. There are issues that are well known. We don’t change the policies on Ukraine’s accession to NATO, but we didn’t discuss the timeline. We do not change the policy on the war with the Russian Federation, this is war. We do not change the policy on the fact that the Ukrainian army should be professional and should be strengthened with a permanent reserve. And we do not change the policy on the creation of a new modern system of territorial defense. We also insist that corruption in the army is unacceptable," Aparshyn said on the air of Hromadske.

Earlier Aparshyn said that Ukraine could regain control over Donbas in five years, noting that the return of the Crimea “is a more remote prospect.”
