Ukraine preparing appeal to Council of Europe over searches in Crimean Tatar houses

Ukraine is preparing an appeal to the Council of Europe and to the member countries of the organization because of the searches of Russian security forces in the houses of Crimean Tatars.

"A new wave of reprisals against Crimean Tatars. The forceful action of the invaders to intimidate an activist. We are preparing an appropriate appeal to the Council of Europe and to the member countries of the organization," Volodymyr Aryev, Ukrainian lawmaker, head of the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the PACE, posted on Facebook.

On April 30, early in the morning, the Russian security forces conducted searches in the houses of Crimean Tatar activists Rolan Osmanov and Dilyavera Bekirov in the occupied Crimea. Later, a search was conducted in the house of a son of activist Dilyavera Bekirov, Ruslan Bekirov, in Simferopol and he was detained.
