Groysman: Decentralization has already covered 70% of Ukraine

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has stated that the creation of united territorial communities in Ukraine should be completed by the autumn of 2020.

“Decentralization has already covered 70 percent, with 30 percent remaining. I believe that united communities, which will be efficient, where there will be a school, a kindergarten, a normal road, a club, an enterprise, should be created no later than local elections that are scheduled for the autumn of 2020. And this is important; in general, it is a goal. In January, we updated the decentralization plan for the next five years, which envisages this,” Groysman said on the Ukraina TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to the prime minister, examples of successful practices of local government can already be seen in many regions.
