Poroshenko: 2,956 Ukrainian soldiers killed during Russian aggression

A total of 2,956 Ukrainian servicemen have been killed over the period of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this on the air of the Ukraine TV channel on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“A total of 2,956 Ukrainian soldiers have given their lives while defending the Ukrainian land from the Russian aggression,” Poroshenko said.

According to the president, about 10 thousand civilians have been killed killed during the period of the Russian aggression.

At the same time, the president recalled that Ukraine had never had territorial claims against any of its neighbors, “there are no Ukrainian troops on the Russian land”.

Russia, when Ukraine was a non-aligned state, "meanly, cunningly, illegally" annexed Crimea and invaded the Ukrainian territory, the president stressed.
