Canada's support for Ukraine unwavering - Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan

Canada's Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan has reaffirmed that Canada's support for Ukraine is unwavering.

He wrote this on Twitter on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation.

“Canada's support for Ukraine is unwavering. As we mark the fifth anniversary of Russia's invasion and ongoing occupation of Crimea, we stand with the Ukrainian people against Russian aggression as they work to enhance Ukraine's security and stability,” he wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Chrystia Freeland stated that Canada and its international partners called on Russia to immediately release the detained Ukrainian servicemen and return the seized vessels. She also underscored that Canada and its allies “are unwavering in our support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

On Friday 15, Canada announced the imposition of sanctions on 114 individuals and 15 entities of Russia, under the Special Economic Measures Act because of Russia’s aggressive actions in in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
