President Poroshenko: Neither hybrid war, nor elections to make Ukraine return under Russia’s yoke

The direction of Ukraine’s movement was determined by millions of Ukrainians, who participated in the Revolution of Dignity.

"For five years now, we, Ukraine, have been going our own way. Neither the open Russian aggression, nor the hybrid war, nor the election race, have forced and will force us to return under the yoke of the Soviet Union or the Russian Empire. Our direction was determined by millions of Ukrainians, who participated in the Revolution of Dignity. I and my team have elaborated a plan for moving along this path. The life shows that this direction and this path are absolutely correct as evidenced by the compelling results, which are worth recalling," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said at the Poltava Region Development Council, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He stressed that the persistence, with which Ukrainians were reaching the goals set, was worth recalling. “Everyone should understand that the source of our power is the creation of army, signing and implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, restoring economic growth amid war and aggression, the Tomos of Autocephaly, decentralization reform, rural medicine reform, energy independence, including from the Russian gas supplies. It is just a small part of our achievements, which have changed Ukraine dramatically over the past five years,” the President underscored.
