Ukraine terminates one more agreement within CIS

The Cabinet of Ministers has terminated for Ukraine the effect of the agreement on the creation of a consultative economic working commission at the governing bodies of the CIS, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine has reported.

"On February 13, the government supported the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and terminated for Ukraine the effect of the agreement, under which the consultative economic working commission was created under the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS in 1992," the report says.

Following a joint analysis by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the relevant agreement lost its practical meaning in 1992 due to the creation of the CIS coordinating and consultative committee that terminated its activities in December 2000.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly conduct an analysis of 236 agreements concluded as part of the CIS. Over the past few months, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has denounced six irrelevant and outdated treaties.
