Court suspends Suprun as Ukraine's health minister

The Ukrainian Health Ministry is holding consultations with lawyers regarding Ulana Suprun's suspension as acting health minister by Kyiv's District Administrative Court, according to a statement posted on the ministry's Facebook page.

"The Ukrainian Health Ministry learned from the media that Kyiv's District Administrative Court had partially granted a statement by an MP and banned Doctor Ulana Suprun from taking any actions aimed at implementing the powers of the health minister. We are consulting with lawyers," the report says.

On Tuesday, Radical Party leader Oleh Liashkko wrote on Facebook that according to a lawsuit filed by party deputy Ihor Mosiychuk, the court had banned Suprun from acting as the head of the Ukrainian Health Ministry.

Earlier, Suprun said that Kyiv's District Administrative Court would consider on February 15 a lawsuit filed by MP Mosiychuk on her having no authority to perform the duties of the health minister.
