PACE to hold urgent debate on Russian aggression against Ukraine

On Thursday, January 24, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will hold urgent debates regarding the situation in the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait.

The head of Ukraine's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), MP Volodymyr Ariev, reported this on his Facebook page.

"Urgent debates in PACE with a resolution regarding the situation in the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait will be held in Strasbourg on Thursday morning. Follow a live stream," Ariev wrote.

As reported, the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will be held in Strasbourg on January 21-25.

On November 25, 2018, Russian border ships fired on and seized in the Kerch Strait three Ukrainian vessels that were moving from the port of Odesa to the port of Mariupol. A total of 24 Ukrainian sailors were captured.

Russian-controlled "courts" in the occupied Crimea arrested all sailors for two months, and they were taken to Moscow.

All Ukrainian sailors captured by Russia told investigators that they are prisoners of war.

On January 15-16, the Lefortovo District Court decided to extend for three months the arrest of 24 Ukrainian sailors.
