Presidential election campaign starts in Ukraine

Today, December 31, the presidential election campaign scheduled for March 31, 2019 has started in Ukraine.

According to the current legislation, the presidential election campaign begins 90 days before the election day and ends 15 days after the official announcement of results of the presidential election.

The registration of candidates will last until February 8, inclusive. 

The Central Election Commission will accept an appeal on the refusal of running for the presidency until March 7.

The Central Election Commission will approve the ballot papers on March 8.

The pre-election campaigning begins the next day after the registration of candidates and ends at 24:00 on March 29.

Voting in the presidential election will be held from 8:00 till 20:00, March 31, 2019.

Election results must be established by April 10.

A newly elected president should assume office not later than 30 days after the announcement of official results.
