Groysman proposes appointing two women as ministers

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has proposed that the Verkhovna Rada approve Oksana Markarova as finance minister and appoint Iryna Friz as minister for veterans, the government's press service has reported.

"Following consultations with the parliamentary coalition and being guided by the rules of the legislation, the prime minister of Ukraine decided to submit a motion to the Verkhovna Rada to appoint Oksana Markarova, who is currently serving as acting finance minister, to the post of Ukraine's finance minister," the statement reads.

Groysman also proposed that Ukrainian MP Iryna Friz be appointed as Ukraine's minister for veterans.

He also asked parliamentarians to consider a statement previously filed by Volodymyr Kutovy regarding his dismissal as minister of agrarian policy and food.
