Klimkin, Volker meet in Washington

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has started his working visit to the United States with a meeting with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker.

Klimkin wrote this on his Twitter account on Thursday.

"American friends say that we brought snow and pre-Christmas mood. Of course, snow is cool, but we need to do some more work for the holiday. We start with Special Representative of the State Department Kurt Volker, then the Senate, then the Congress, and then according to schedule," he wrote.

Klimkin will be on a working visit to Washington until November 16 to participate in a meeting of the updated format of the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Commission.

Klimkin's visit to Washington also foresees talks with U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, meetings with leading U.S. lawmakers and communication with American experts.

On November 12, Klimkin told journalists that the Strategic Partnership Commission between Ukraine and the U.S. would consider issues of political, security, legal and economic cooperation at a meeting in Washington on November 16.
