Batkivshchyna paid UAH 100 mln to advertise New Course of Ukraine - CVU
The Batkivshchyna All-Ukrainian Union has spent about UAH 100 million on advertising the party program "New Course of Ukraine," the Committee of Voters of Ukraine (CVU) has reported, having analyzed the party's financial reports for the second and third quarters of 2018.
"The party spent UAH 24.8 million on propaganda activities in April-June and UAH 73 million in July-September. It was during the summer that active advertising of the 'New Course' began, so it is logical to expect that a greater part of the money was spent on these needs," the report says.
The CVU said that such expenses had become a record figure for the party and were related to the upcoming elections. For comparison, the party spent only UAH 19 million in 2016 and UAH 30 million in 2017.
According to the party's latest financial report released on November 9, in July-September alone, Batkivshchyna spent UAH 53 million on advertising on television and UAH 19 million on outdoor advertising (billboards, city-lights). In particular, the party transferred more than UAH 19 million to Global Media Group Ltd as "payment for advertising on television." Another UAH 30 million was transferred to Starlight Brand Content Ltd as payment for the "provision of advertising services." The activities of these companies are connected with the ICTV, STB, Novy Kanal television channels and others. Most funds for the placement of outdoor advertising were received by RTM-Ukraine.
