Lithuanian Foreign Ministry calls for sanctions against organizers of ‘elections’ in Donbas

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius states that the Kremlin continues to destabilize the situation in eastern Ukraine by holding the so-called “elections”, and called for sanctions against “organizers of this farce.”

“As world honors victims of WWI, Kremlin keeps destabilising eastern Ukraine: illegitimate ‘elections‘ by so-called ‘Donetsk & Luhansk people‘s republics‘ in Ukraine‘s territory- another violation of Minsk Agr. & Int. law. Sanctions against organizers of this farce should follow,“ the minister wrote on Twitter.

The Lithuanian foreign minister commented on a statement by the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry that “Lithuania condemns the illegitimate ‘elections‘ by so-called ‘Donetsk & Luhansk people‘s republics‘ in Ukraine‘s territory.”

As reported, pro-Russian militants in Donbas held the so-called "elections" in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions on November 11.
