Canada sees Donbas needs as priority of its assistance to Ukraine - Kubiv

Canada sees the needs of Donbas as a priority of its international technical assistance to Ukraine, First Deputy Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv has told an Ukrinform correspondent during his visit to Canada.

"Minister of International Development of Canada Marie-Claude Bibeau said that the priority of her country's technical assistance is the east of Ukraine, temporarily displaced persons. We talked about women and children, as well as about opportunities for development of small and medium-sized businesses in the east, which she personally visited, and I thanked her for that," Kubiv said.

According to him, evidence of this is the funds already allocated by Canada for the development of small and medium enterprises in Ukraine.

As reported, Bibeau visited Ukraine in July. In addition to Kyiv, she traveled to a number of other regions of Ukraine, in particular, Donbas, where she saw with her own eyes the violation of the ceasefire by Russian occupation forces. During the visit, she announced the launch of a new Ukraine support project entitled "Growth that Works for Everyone: Inclusive and Shared Prosperity in Ukraine."
