Turchynov: Russia’s aggressive policy is the main threat to Ukraine and Poland

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov believes that the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation is the main threat to both Ukraine and Poland.

He said this to journalists at a joint briefing with Head of the National Security Bureau of Poland Pawel Soloch on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The aggressive imperial policy of the Russian Federation is the main threat to Ukraine and Poland. It seems to me that in comparison with this threat some other local problems or political and diplomatic issues are fading into insignificance,” the NSDC secretary said.

Turchynov stressed that the main thing for Ukraine was a reform of the security and defense sector and a course towards Euro-Atlantic integration. He expressed gratitude to the Polish side for support, in particular in the military and defense sectors.

In turn, Soloch noted that Russia’s aggressive policy was a problem not only for Ukraine, but also for the EU and NATO. He stressed that Poland would continue to support Ukraine, in particular, in the defense sector.
