Poroshenko instructs government to provide humanitarian assistance to Indonesia

President Petro Poroshenko has called on the Cabinet of Ministers to organize the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Indonesia, the president’s press service reported on Thursday evening.

“As a result of the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia, more than 1,400 people died. Indonesia is very close to us, despite the distance," the President said.

According to Poroshenko, the Ukrainian food and medical aid can save lives. “This is a position of a real friend and partner. And we always respond to such events," he said.

Poroshenko stressed that Indonesia had always voted in support of the Ukrainian resolutions in the UN and recalled that in August 2016, he had visited that country.
