Groysman, Mogherini discuss progress of reforms in Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, have discussed the progress on Ukraine’s reform agenda during a telephone conversation.

"They [Groysman and Mogherini] looked forward to taking stock of progress in the implementation of the Association Agreement, including its Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, at the next meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council," a Brussels-based Ukrinform correspondent learnt from the European External Action Service.

As noted, the EU High Representative emphasised the importance of continued progress on the reform agenda, particularly in the establishment of the High Anti-Corruption Court, commending Prime Minister Groysman for his government's commitment.

“This is key also in terms of the EU's Macro-Financial Assistance, for which the Commission and Ukraine signed last Friday a Memorandum of Understanding for up to €1 billion,” the EU underscores.

The meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council is scheduled to be held in December.
