Canada constantly supports Ukraine – minister

Ukraine can count on the continued support of Canada.

Minister of Science and Sport of Canada Kirsty Duncan said this on the Ukrainian Canadian Heritage Day, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We constantly support the people of Ukraine and the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and we will continue to work with our Ukrainian colleagues on the development of partnership and friendship," Duncan said.

She stressed that Ukrainian immigrants "have done a lot and continue to do in all aspects of Canadian society, economic and political life."

"Ukrainians played a key role in the Canadian democracy and we are grateful for this," the minister said.

Duncan also recalled that Canada is "one of the biggest allies and donors of international assistance for Ukraine."

"We consistently adhere to our obligations to the people of Ukraine," she stressed.

In addition, the minister thanked Ukraine for its commitment to lasting partnership and friendship and congratulated on the opening of the new Consulate General in Edmonton.
