Hot water for Kyiv: Poroshenko calls on Parliament to introduce amendments to budget

President Petro Poroshenko has called on the Verkhovna Rada to envisage the allocation UAH 729 million in the amendments to the state budget for 2018 to pay off debts for heat energy in the city of Kyiv.  

President’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko said this at a meeting of the Agenda-Setting Council, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I urge the parliamentary faction to join the President's request and resolve this issue [to allocate compensation funds] by introducing amendments to the budget for 2018," Lutsenko said.

According to her, the issue of allocation of UAH 729 million, which Kyiv needs to pay off debts for heat energy so that to ensure uninterrupted provision of city residents with hot water and heat supply in the autumn and winter period, is urgent.
