Groysman: Subventions for regions to be increased in 2019

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that subventions from the state budget on the social and economic development of the regions will remain in effect and even be increased.

"We have left a clear priority - regional development, and we are transferring this year about UAH 11 billion to co-finance the construction of schools, rural health spots, hospitals, roads...," said Groysman at a briefing, when asked by an Ukrinform correspondent about subventions in regions.

At the same time, he added that the state's regional policy on this issue should be improved.

As reported, the Accounting Chamber stated it would recommend keeping a subvention for the social and economic development of territorial communities in the state budget for 2019, as the results of the state audit in the regions revealed ineffective use of these funds.
