Klimkin: Zakharchenko's death could trigger new Russia’s provocations

The death of Alexander Zakharchenko, the leader of Donetsk terrorists, could trigger new provocations on part of Russia.

"We always expect provocations from Russia, knowing that terrorists could organize them any time. The events in Donetsk on August 31 could also have impact on Russia's further actions. We must be absolutely ready for this. And soon we will find out, who exactly organized the explosion: is it a local criminal showdown or influence of Russian special services?" Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent.

In his opinion, real criminals, backed by Russian special services and military, are operating in Donetsk.

"After all, we saw Moscow's lightning-fast response [to information about death of Zakharchenko] on August 31. The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed condolences nearly just the same moment, so this sets us thinking. I believe that Ukraine should get ready for further provocations on part of Russia," Klimkin.

As reported, leader of terrorist group "Donetsk People’s Republic" Alexander Zakharchenko was killed in explosion in the occupied Donetsk on Friday.
