Poroshenko instructs diplomats to expand international military and technical cooperation

The expansion of international cooperation in the military and technical sector, in particular, the purchase and acquisition of defense weapons, should become one of the main priorities for Ukrainian diplomats.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this at the 13th plenary meeting of heads of foreign diplomatic representative offices of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Without any exaggeration, the dialogue between Kyiv and Washington, I would like to emphasize separately, has not been as intense and fruitful as it is now. The decision of the U.S. President to finally provide Ukraine with defensive lethal weapons deserves a special notice. It is not only the result of huge amount of diplomatic work, but also the best evidence that there is an extremely high level of trust between Kyiv and Washington, which should serve as a benchmark for further expanding cooperation with countries that can make an important contribution to our security. This is the military and technical sector that should become one of your main priorities,” Poroshenko said.
