Russia’s arms in Donbas, release of Ukrainian hostages to be discussed at OSCE Council meeting

In September, a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council will be focused on discussion of Russia's failure to fulfill its obligations in Donbas and release of Ukrainian hostages.

Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna Ihor Prokopchuk said this at a press meeting within the framework of the 13th plenary meeting of heads of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The main topic of discussion will include the issues related to Russia's failure to fulfill its obligations, based on the facts presented by the SMM, as well as the humanitarian situation and the issue of Ukrainian captives, where we do not see any progress," he commented on the issues that would be discussed at the next meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.

According to him, the meeting of the Permanent Council will provide an opportunity to thoroughly review the facts that have been recorded recently by the SMM observers. The diplomat noted that SMM had recorded in Donbas the newest piece of armament that were taken by the Russian army only in the last few years, as well as the border crossing by Russian vehicles as part of the so-called humanitarian convoy.

At the same time, Prokopchuk noted that the meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council was planned to be held at the end of September.
