U.S., Canadian foreign ministers discuss Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland have discussed on the phone a number of topical issues of international politics, including the situation in Ukraine.

This is stated in an official report of the U.S. State Department, Ukrinform's correspondent in Washington reports.

"Secretary Michael R. Pompeo spoke today with Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland," reads the report issued on Saturday, August 11.

It notes that the sides discussed the dispute between Saudi Arabia and Canada over Canada's call for releasing civil rights activists.

"The Secretary also discussed Iran and Ukraine," the State Department said.
