NABU sends 83 queries to foreign countries over corruption schemes this year

In the first half of 2018, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) sent 83 queries to foreign countries regarding the corruption schemes.

"The figures show that, unfortunately, corruption in Ukraine has no borders. There are almost no corruption schemes, investigated by NABU, which end in Ukraine. For the entire period of the NABU activity, we have sent 371 queries to foreign states. In the first half of 2018, we sent 83 such queries regarding the corruption schemes," NABU director Artem Sytnik said during a press conference at Ukrinform news agency.

As Sytnik noted, the NABU feels resistance from the Prosecutor General's Office as NABU is the only law enforcement agency in Ukraine, except for the PGO, which has the right to cooperate directly with the international counterparts.
