Ukraine, Argentina sign three agreements in the field of criminal justice

The Justice Ministries of Ukraine and Argentina have signed three intergovernmental agreements in the field of criminal justice.

The press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in Argentina reported this following the talks held on August 6 between the Ukrainian official delegation headed by Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko and Minister of Justice and Human Rights of Argentina Germán Garavano.

"The talks ended with the signing of three interstate agreements in the field of criminal justice. Justice Ministers of the two countries, Pavlo Petrenko and Germán Garavano, signed the Agreement on the Transfer of Convicted Persons. Also, the head of the Ukrainian delegation and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Secretary of State of Argentina Daniel Raimondi signed the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters and the Agreement on Rendition of Offenders,” reads the report. .

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in both countries, as well as prospects for further development of cooperation between the Justice Ministries of Ukraine and Argentina.

In addition, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister outlined the changes introduced in the Ukrainian legislation in the field of appointment and dismissal of judges, and noted the progress made in developing the system of free legal aid to vulnerable groups of the population.
