Ukrainian ambassador to United States thanks Mike Pompeo for Crimean declaration

Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States of America Valeriy Chaly personally thanked U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for adopting the Crimean Declaration.

"On behalf of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, I personally thanked U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for adopting the declaration on the non-recognition of Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea (I think in the future it will be mentioned as "Pompeo's Declaration")," the ambassador wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, they also discussed further joint steps and noted the successful development of the partnership between the two countries. "Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, as they say, is gaining momentum!" he said.

As reported, on July 25, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a statement, titled "Crimea Declaration," stating that the United States does not recognize Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea and accuses it of undermining international principles of peace and security.
