66 unlawful raids and 98 arrests recorded in Crimea for last six months

Representatives of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center presented the report on violations of human rights in the occupied Crimea for the first half of 2018. During this time, 66 illegal raids on homes, 89 interrogations and 98 arrests were registered on the peninsula.

The report was presented by member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariev and Crimean Tatar Resource Center communications manager Elvira Sagirman, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, 66 raids were registered in the temporarily occupied Crimea in the first half of 2018 (including 56 raids on homes of Crimean Tatars). According to Bariev, this has already become a common practice of Russian security forces, a way of intimidating people who are not loyal to the actions of the de facto authorities in Crimea.

During this period, 73 people were detained (including 51 representatives of the indigenous people). In addition, 89 interrogations were conducted (including 61 interrogations of Crimean Tatars) and 98 people were arrested (including 76 Crimean Tatars) in the temporarily occupied Crimea in the first half of 2018.
