Canada’s minister of international development to visit Ukraine

Canadian Minister of International Development Marie-Claude Bibeau will make a multi-day visit to Ukraine.

According to the Canadian Foreign Ministry, the visit will last from July 18 to 23, 2018.

"Canada is among the strongest international supporters of Ukraine and its democratic and economic reform processes. Canada’s continued assistance is helping Ukraine advance its reform agenda, promote peace and stability within the country and meet the critical needs of people affected by the conflict in the eastern part of the country," the report reads.

During her visit, Minister Bibeau will meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, as well as several other Ukrainian ministers, to discuss the Ukrainian government’s reform agenda, including its strategy for reaching the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Canadian minister will also visit development projects supported by Canada and meet with government officials, women’s organizations and other key stakeholders involved in various kinds of reform, including the advancement of gender equality and women’s rights and the financial inclusion of the most vulnerable and marginalized.
