No one will manage to block Ukraine's integration into NATO - Poroshenko

Ukrainian Petro Poroshenko has said that NATO confirms that over the past few years Ukraine has made more progress than in all previous times.

He wrote this on his Facebook page.

"The final NATO Summit resolution contains a few very important points for Ukraine. First, Ukraine is tirelessly approaching membership in the alliance. Second, the Bucharest Summit decision that the alliance's door is open for Ukraine has been confirmed. All NATO leaders stressed that it all depends on the will of the Ukrainian people. I am sure that it will disappoint some skeptics who believe that Ukraine should ask for permission from Russia, frightening us that someone may block the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine," Poroshenko said.

According to him, the third important point is recognition of the significant progress in the reforms that were implemented in Ukraine.

"NATO confirms that over the past few years Ukraine has made more progress than in all previous times. For the first time the official NATO documents note Russia's aggressive actions and contain the demand for the Russian Federation to stop aggression and withdraw its troops and all mercenaries from Ukraine. Most importantly, no one will be able to block Ukraine's integration into NATO!" the president wrote.
