National Guard commander meets with Volker to discuss situation in Donbas

Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Yuriy Allerov, during his visit to Washington D.C., met with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker.

This is reported by the press service of the National Guard.

"The parties discussed the situation in eastern Ukraine, the role and tasks of the National Guard within the framework of the Joint Forces Operation and its cooperation with the Armed Forces. Allerov and Volker talked about the practice of integrating the volunteer battalions to the National Guard," the report reads.

Another topic of the discussion was the development of cooperation between the National Guard of Ukraine and the National Guard of California.

As a reminder, in May 2018 Kurt Volker visited Donetsk region and met with Ukraine’s Joint Forces Commander Lieutenant-General Serhiy Nayev and communicated with local population. The diplomat regularly expresses support for the people of Ukraine and draws the attention of the international community to the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
