Government approves Zhebrivsky's resignation as Donetsk regional governor

The Cabinet of Ministers has agreed to dismiss Chairman of Donetsk Regional State Administration and Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Civilian Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky.

Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Vadym Chernysh told this to reporters after a government meeting on Wednesday, Ukrinform reports.

"The Cabinet does not accept resignation. Resignation is accepted by the Ukrainian president. Zhebrivsky was on the list of those approved for dismissal," Chernysh said.

At the same time, he refused to comment on rumors about who will head Donetsk Regional State Administration.

As reported, it became known on June 11 that Zhebrivsky had tendered his resignation. He said that he discussed this decision with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on June 9. Then the head of state accepted Zhebrivsky's decision.
