Ukrainian parliament may pass national security law on June 21

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy expects the parliament to pass the law on national security of Ukraine on June 21.

He said this during a panel "Confronting New Security Challenges" within the framework of the 2nd Inter-parliamentary Conference "Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Strengthening Inter-parliamentary Component of Regional Cooperation and Security Cooperation and Development of Interaction with EU and NATO", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Military development and enhancement of military forces remains a top priority for us. Therefore, the law on national security and defense will be put on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the next plenary week [June 19-22]," the Verkhovna Rada chairman said.

According to him, it is a very ambitious and systemic law, which should be a significant step towards improving the defense capability of Ukraine.
