Verkhovna Rada sacks Danylyuk from finance minister post

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has supported the draft government's decision to dismiss Oleksandr Danylyuk from the position of the Minister of Finance of Ukraine.

As an Ukrinform correspondent reports, 254 lawmakers voted for the corresponding decision.

On Wednesday, June 6, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget endorsed the draft Cabinet's decision to dismiss Danylyuk from the finance minister post.

The former official claims that for the past year he was subjected to pressure, in particular, he was required to support the program "Subventions for the social and economic development of the regions", which, according to him, means "giving money for projects of lawmakers from majority constituencies."
