G7 ambassadors urge Ukrainian parliament to pass law on anti-corruption court

Ambassadors of the G7 countries have urged the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to pass a law on the creation of an Anti-Corruption Court.

This is stated in a statement posted by the Canadian Chair of the G7 Ambassadors’ Support Group on Twitter.

"We believe the Expert Panel must play a central role in the selection of qualified judges. We support the IMF’s assessment on this and whether other key features of the law fulfill its conditions," the ambassadors of the G7 countries noted.

The diplomats added that the Anti-Corruption Court should be a crucial part of Ukraine's anti-corruption efforts.

On June 7, the Verkhovna Rada will continue to consider the amendments to the presidential bill on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, the adoption of which is one of the requirements of the IMF to provide Ukraine with the next tranche.
