Ukraine’s Deputy Prosecutor General: Russia does not cooperate with MH17 investigation

Russia has not fulfilled its obligations under the UN Security Council resolution on facilitating the MH17 crash investigation.

First Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmytro Storozhuk said this in a commentary to Ukrinform.

"Absolutely all the data presented today have been collected as a result of the investigative actions, carried out including by the Ukrainian side, and have not been provided to the Joint Investigation Team requests for legal assistance from the Russian Federation," Storozhuk said.

According to him, Russia has not fulfilled its obligations to assist the MH17 crash investigation.

"We, as part of the international Joint Investigation Team, have appealed to the Russian Federation within the framework of the UN Security Council resolution [resolution S / RES / 2166 of 2014] as Russia committed to facilitating the investigation. As of now, they did not provide any information regarding the Buk missile system of the 53rd brigade, the persons and the equipment that could be involved," Storozhuk said.

He added that Russia had provided only data from civilian radars that could not technically spot the launched missile.
