Poroshenko invites Bulgarian PM to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to discuss bilateral cooperation and invited him to visit Ukraine, the press service of the head of state has reported.

"As part of his visit to Germany, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. The sides discussed issues put on the bilateral agenda… The head of the Ukrainian state invited the Bulgarian prime minister to visit Ukraine," the statement reads.

In addition, the sides agreed on preparations for the EU-Ukraine Summit. Ukraine's Presidential Administration recalled that Bulgaria had presided over the European Union since January 1, 2018.

Poroshenko was on a working visit to Germany on May 9-10. This was the third visit by the head of state to Germany over the past four months.

Trilateral talks between the Ukrainian president, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron were held during the visit.
