President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held talks with President of the European Council Donald Tusk in Germany.

This is reported by the press service of the Head of State.

"During the working visit to Germany to attend the Charlemagne Prize ceremony, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with President of the European Council Donald Tusk. The leaders agreed to hold the next 20th Ukraine - EU Summit in the summer of 2018 in Brussels," the statement reads.

As noted, Poroshenko informed Tusk of the situation in the Donbas, the JFO course and the recent facts of violation of the Minsk agreements by the Russian side. The interlocutors also discussed the issue of the continuation and possible strengthening of the regime of sanctions against Russia.

The leaders discussed the implementation of reforms in Ukraine, particularly the establishment of the anticorruption court, the reform of the national security system, the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, as well as the ways to enhance the EU assistance.

As reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, President of France Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet in Aachen, Germany, on May 10. According to Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk, the meeting will be an important preparatory stage for a comprehensive meeting in the Normandy Four format.
