Government to resolutely respond to any manifestations of anti-Semitism – Poroshenko

President Petro Poroshenko condemns any manifestations of anti-Semitism and states that the government will decisively respond to any attempts to sow hostility in the society.

In a post on his Facebook page, Poroshenko wrote: “I strongly condemn any manifestations of intolerance and anti-Semitism. I consider as unacceptable any attempts to bring these shameful things in Ukraine, as it happened recently during the actions in Lviv and Odesa”.

He also stated that the Ukrainian government will resolutely respond to any attempts to sow hostility in the society.

“The reaction of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to such unlawful actions will be immediate. Ukraine is not a place for discrimination and intolerance on any ground, since respect for life and dignity of every person is the highest value for the Ukrainian state,” Poroshenko stated.

As reported, on May 2, the head of Odesa regional department of the Right Sector organization, Tetiana Soikina, during the March of the Ukrainian order in Odesa stated that Ukraine will belong to "Ukrainians, not Jews."

The police opened criminal proceedings for public anti-Semitic appeals.
