Poroshenko signs law on strengthening control over state border

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a law on strengthening control over the state border of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

"President Petro Poroshenko signed the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine of the Law of Ukraine on Ensuring Border Security of the State," the report reads.

The implementation of the legislative act will effectively counteract administrative violations on the state border of Ukraine, in controlled border areas, as well as at checkpoints of entry and exit to or from temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

The law makes changes to improve measures applied by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in combating illegal migration on the state border and other violations in the border sector.
