G7 member countries condemn deterioration of human rights situation in Crimea

The Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers have criticized the situation of human rights in Crimea occupied by Russia.

This is stated in a joint communiqué of the G7 foreign ministers.

"We condemn the worsening of the human rights situation on the peninsula and the violations and abuses committed against the population of Crimea by Russia," the document says.

The ministers also expressed their full support for the sovereignty of Ukraine, condemning the annexation of Crimea by Russia. "We reiterate our enduring support for Ukrainian sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders," the communiqué reads.

"Given Russia’s responsibility in the conflict, we urge Russia to stabilize the security situation in the Donbas without delay," the G7 foreign ministers stressed.
