Acting Health Minister Suprun says she remains in office

Ukraine's Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun has said that she remains in office despite the recommendation of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Healthcare to dismiss her.

She said this to journalists before a government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"I think that this is the best advertising that our reform is moving in the right direction. I want to thank everyone, hundreds of people who wrote messages of support to me, people's deputies, and ministers. Even the prime minister called me... I remain in office," Suprun said.

As reported, on April 3, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Healthcare approved draft resolution No. 5642 on an appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers with the request to dismiss Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun.

The committee recognized the work of the Ukrainian Health Ministry in 2017 as unsatisfactory.

Suprun was appointed Ukraine's acting health minister in July 2016.
