Poroshenko, Mogherini agree to enhance cooperation in fighting fake news

President Petro Poroshenko and Vice President of the European Commission - High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini have agreed to enhance cooperation in fighting fake news.

"In the context of Russia's ongoing campaign on spreading misinformation, committing cyber-attacks, interfering in electoral processes against a free democratic world, in the context of the European Union and Ukraine, we have agreed to strengthen our cooperation in combating cyber threats, fake news and exchange of experiences, which will be beneficial for both Ukraine and the European Union," President Petro Poroshenko stated at a joint briefing in Kyiv, an Ukrinform own correspondent reports.

Poroshenko also noted he had informed Mogherini about the course of reforms being carried out in Ukraine.

"I am very grateful for the positive assessment of reforms given by the vice president," he stressed.

As reported, Vice President of the European Commission - High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini is on an official visit to Ukraine on March 12.
