Poroshenko to meet with Vice President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini on March 12

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Vice-President of the European Commission - EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will discuss the situation in Donbas and the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission.

The meeting will be held in the framework of Mogherini’s visit to Ukraine on March 12, the press service of the head of state reported.

"During the meeting, the issues of the security situation in Donbas and the prospects for deploying a UN peacekeeping mission in support of the implementation of the Minsk agreements will be discussed," the statement reads.

The parties will also coordinate positions regarding non-recognition of the illegal presidential election of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Sevastopol. They will discuss ways to improve the sanctions policy against Russia for undermining the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, the EU's support for reforms in Ukraine and the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

On March 12, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman will also meet with Federica Mogherini.
