Chubarov: Russia’s militarization of Crimea not to obstruct de-occupation process

Deployment of modern Russian armament systems on the territory of the annexed Crimea will not prevent the process of de-occupation of the peninsula.

Member of the Parliament of Ukraine, Chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov stated this on March 4, Crimea.Realities project reports.

"Indeed, the Russians have filled the peninsula with all the modern armament systems they have for today. Their anti-aircraft missile systems are capable of harming NATO member states, namely Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey. However, I would not say this creates insurmountable barriers in the context of Crimea's de-occupation," Chubarov said.

According to him, the international partners of Ukraine are actively exerting pressure on Russia in all directions, including through the economic sanctions.

Earlier, Deputy Director of NATO Representation to Ukraine Ann-Kristin Bjergene expressed her concern over the militarization of Crimea and Russian military buildup in the Black Sea region.
