Poroshenko, Lukashenko discuss topical issues of Ukraine-Belarus relations

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko have discussed topical issues of the Ukraine-Belarus relations.

This was discussed during a telephone conversation between the two presidents, the press service of the Ukrainian president reported.

"President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a phone conversation with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The parties discussed topical issues of the agenda of the Ukraine-Belarus relations, in particular, the development of bilateral political dialogue and future contacts at the highest level," the statement reads.

The interlocutors noted the importance of proper preparation for holding the first forum of regions of Ukraine and Belarus in Gomel this year.

In this context, the parties discussed the intensification of trade and economic and cultural component of interregional cooperation.
