‘Normandy Four’ will meet in Munich without French foreign minister

Meeting of the foreign ministers of the "Normandy Four" format will be held in Munich without the participation of the French minister.

"Le Drian cannot come to Munich conference for important reasons," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin told Ukrainian journalists in Munich, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

However, Klimkin stressed, "It's important that the Normandy format will take place today, and I need this meeting to present the key elements of our position."

The diplomat also informed that he had met with Le Drian in Paris and in Kuwait, and they had a detailed conversation. The French minister assured that although he could not attend today, he would consistently defend the common (Ukrainian-German-French) position at the subsequent meetings.

The Ukrainian diplomat is going to speak at the “Normandy Four” meeting about the release of hostages, the humanitarian component and the situation in the occupied Crimea.
